Designer Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba reinterprets the traditional Japanese Kintsugi technique for the unique and elegant Kintsugi Collection for Seletti. Kintsugi – meaning “golden joinery” – is a technique that uses lacquer mixed with gold powder to repair gold ceramics. The concept of the beauty of imperfection and honouring the history of an object is artfully brought to life in these porcelain pieces which give the illusion of repaired ceramics. Each piece uses 24-carat gold veins to seemingly “join” different pieces of porcelain, creating plates and coffee sets that are classic and groundbreaking at the same time.
